Aerospace Component Manufacturing
At Intrex Aerospace component manufacturing is our focus. We provide precision machined parts to our aerospace partners. Our experienced staff and strong systems control are key to our success, both past and present. Our modern 75,000 sq. ft. facility, state-of-the-art equipment, ISO 9001, AS 9100D, and ITAR certifications are positioned to deliver quality aerospace/defense parts.
Program Management Services
One of Intrex many offerings is our program management services. In addition to providing machined parts, we have integrated our program management services that are fundamental to our program management success.
Our trained and experienced staff can support the most demanding requirements of our supply chain partners. Customer input and communication are foundational to executing a successful program management system. We pride ourselves on our customer relationships and understanding their needs. Our ISO 9001:2000, AS9100D and ITAR certifications are a testimony to our commitment to provide our customers with the most efficient, professional, and dedicated level of service.
We oversee our manufacturing process using Epicor ERP/MRP system software. It allows us to schedule and track parts as they flow through our shop floor. It is integrated and can address the following:
- Engineering support
- Kanban Pull Systems
- FAI’s
- AOG’s (how to handle this situation)
- DX/DO requirements
- Forecasting links to supplier portals
- Raw material sourcing
- Part machining
- Special process management
- Quality assurance
- Documentation
- Packaging & Shipment
The efficiencies gained by the management of our system can greatly reduce lead times and overall costs.
Government Regulation & Compliance
Intrex Aerospace has years of experience producing parts with ITAR requirements. We are ITAR compliant. We supply machined components with the necessary certifications and documentation to meet government standards.
Complex Parts – Shorter Production – Flexible Scheduling
We have several CNC machine tools that have multi-axis simultaneous machining features. One of the advantages of this type of CNC equipment is it can produce complex machined shapes, with minimal operator intervention. Many of the production requirements for producing aerospace/defense components are a high mix – low volume. We are ideally suited for the high mix – low volume aerospace contract manufacturing world.
Most of our turn/mill machines have twin spindles. Two spindles allow for part transfer internal to the machining without operator intervention. By eliminating or minimizing this intervention, we greatly reduce the number of additional setups. This setup reduction reduces the possibility of tolerance “stack up”, which helps reduce or eliminate scrap, greatly enhancing quality in the finished machined part. The entire process of utilizing multi-axis machinery improves operating efficiencies and also reduces lead times.
In aerospace contract manufacturing, getting a handle on rev. updates, changes in lot sizes, inventory constraints, and shrinking lead times, can be a challenge. Our 5-axis simultaneous machine tools with ATC’s (automatic tool changers) give us the needed flexibilities, to better manage the above-stated challenges.
Vertically Integrated Services
We have 20+ years’ experience, in Integrated Logistical Supply Chain Management. Our staff is trained, qualified and experienced. We combine this with our Epicor ERP/MRP system to provide manufacturing technologies and business processes necessary to make our customers’ program outsourcing successful. Our Program Management operates on the assumption that Intrex will assume responsibility on behalf of our partners to coordinate the supply chain, manage risk, and implement systems for quality and delivery to our customers’ specific needs and requirements.
Integrated into our component manufacturing services are the following:
- Sourcing raw material
- Complete machining
- Managing special processing – outsourcing
- Complete part Inspection
- Providing all material certifications & documentation
- Providing FAIs (if required)
- Packaging & shipping
- “Light” assembly – where required
