Complex Parts – Shorter Production – Flexible Scheduling

Our multi-axis CNC machine centers are ideally suited for producing complex machined shapes. Several of our machines have twin spindles. Two spindles allow for chucking the workpiece in the left-hand spindle, machining on side one, and transferring the workpiece (without operator intervention) to the right-hand spindle. The ability to hold and transfer the part with a minimum of operator intervention, within the same machine envelope, greatly reduces the need for additional setups. This setup reduction is very beneficial in reducing tolerance “stack up”, which in turn eliminates scrap and produces overall quality improvements. Utilizing this type of multi-axis CNC machinery also enhances operating efficiencies and reduces lead times.

Because of rev updates and inventory constraints, lot sizes of production space and aerospace machined components have become shorter. Having 5-axis simultaneous machine tools lends itself to addressing needed flexibility. Our 5-axis CNC machines can generate most complex shapes. We also have tool changers on our machines, which shorten setup times, making us flexible for managing these shorter production runs.
