Exotic Materials for Space Components
Since its founding, Intrex has been a reliable supplier of precision machined parts for the space market. In many applications exotic materials for space components are specified. We have produced machined parts from solid/castings/forgings and in a variety of materials, such as aluminum, cold/hot roll steel, stainless steel, Inconel, titanium, TZM, and more.
Investment in Equipment
Having updated, rigid state-of-the-art equipment is one of the prerequisites for successfully machining exotic materials. We have made significant investments in modern state-of-the-art equipment. Our most recent investments have been in CNC multi-axis (5-axis) machines with dual spindles. All these machines are equipped with tool changers, allowing us to machine exotic materials in complex shapes. The design of these multi-axis machines minimizes the need for operator intervention, lowering the number of setups and reducing the chance for error stack up. It also allows us to economically produce complex parts in high, medium, and low volumes.
ITAR Compliant
Being a producer of space components, we have to meet ITAR requirements. Intrex Aerospace has many year of experience with producing parts with ITAR requirements. We are ITAR compliant. We can provide machined parts with the necessary certifications and documentation to meet government standards.
Our staff is well versed with ITAR compliance: audits, lot traceability, documentation, and certifications. We are capable of providing USML-controlled defense and military aircraft parts. We have both AS9100 and ISO 9001 certifications. We are experienced with defense DX and DO requirements.
Quality Assurance
We have total system integration with our Quality Management. It is integrated to all facets of our production. We can monitor, measure, and manage every aspect of our system. We also manage the outsourcing of finishing processes (anodize, dry film lube, mag-particle inspection, passivation, powder coating).
Our quality system can provide the system controls necessary for producing exotic material parts. Our powerful Epicor ERP/MRP software system manages the entire process: material sourcing, production scheduling, special processing management, shipping, and documentation. We are familiar and experienced with FAIs and AOGs.
Cost Control
Cost control is central to our production process. At Intrex, we are committed to maximizing manufacturing efficiencies, which is key to controlling cost. We are constantly updating our production and support equipment and improving our systems and methods. We believe and train our staff in Six Sigma principles. Lean Six Sigma methods are rooted in process improvement systems like Total Quality Management (TQM). By utilizing these methods, we improve quality while we identify and eliminate waste.
Total System Management
Our capabilities at Intrex go beyond producing multi-axis machined components in exotic materials. We offer complete program management. Our Epicor software system monitors and controls the scheduling, throughput, and reporting of all our production work as it flows through our shop. We also provide engineering support, management of outsourcing of finishing processes, light assembly, kitting, and more.
