Since our founding, Intrex has been a reliable supplier of precision machined parts for the space market. Many times for space applications exotic materials are specified. We have produced machined parts from solid/castings/forgings and multiple materials, some “standard”, some exotic (many aluminum grades, cold/hot roll steel, multiple stainless steel types, inconel, titanium, TZM, etc.).
Investment in Equipment
Having modern, rigid, state-of-the-art equipment is one of the prerequisites for successfully machining exotic materials, to exacting standards. Intrex has and continues to make significant capital investments in modern state-of-the-art equipment. Our most recent investments included several CNC multi-axis (5-axis) machines with dual spindles. These machines are equipped with multiple magazine automatic tool changers (ATC). With the ATC’s, it allows a minimum of operator intervention, which lowers the number of required setups, minimizing setup time and greatly reduces error stack-up due to moving the workpiece from fixture-to-fixture.
ITAR Compliant
Most of the space components we produce have an ITAR requirement. Intrex Aerospace has many year of experience producing ITAR parts. We are ITAR registered and can provide machined space components with the necessary government certifications and documentation.
Our staff is well versed with ITAR compliance, audits, lot traceability, documentation, and certifications. We are capable of providing USML-controlled defense and military aircraft parts. We also have both AS9100 and ISO 9001 certifications and have experience with defense DX and DO requirements.
Quality Assurance
Our Quality Management. System (QMS) is integrated with our production. We can monitor, measure, and manage all aspects of our production. We also manage the outsourcing of finishing processes (anodize, dry film lube, mag-particle inspection, passivation, powder coating). Our powerful Epicor ERP/MRP software system manages the entire process: material sourcing, production scheduling, special processing management, shipping, and documentation. We are also experienced with handling AOGs. We also can provide FAI’s for new parts,
Cost Control
Cost control is always a central concern in our production process. At Intrex, we are committed to maximizing manufacturing efficiencies, which is key to controlling cost. We are constantly updating our production and support equipment and improving our systems and methods. We believe and train our staff in Six Sigma principles. Lean Six Sigma methods are rooted in process improvement systems like Total Quality Management (TQM). By utilizing these methods, we improve quality while we identify and eliminate waste.
Total System Management
Our capabilities at Intrex go beyond producing multi-axis machined components in exotic materials. We offer complete program management. Our Epicor software system monitors and controls the scheduling, throughput, and reporting of all our production work as it flows through our shop. We also provide engineering support, management of outsourcing of finishing processes, light assembly, kitting, and more.
