Defense Require CNC Machining
Many components Intrex provides for defense requires CNC Machining. Many of the parts are complex and also require multi-axis machining capabilities. Intrex Aerospace has been providing tight-tolerance, quality components for years. As an ISO 9001 and AS9100 certified aerospace manufacturer, we have the facility (75,000 sq. ft.), the experience (30+ years), and quality control systems necessary to produce the high-quality precision machined components the aerospace, defense, and space industries require.
Our high-precision machine shop has multiple CNC multi-axis machines (vertical and horizontal centers, and 5-axis CNC turning lathes). Our multi-axis machines help reduce setups, eliminate error stack-up, and improve lead times—ideal for machining complex shapes with minimal operator intervention.
Because of our involvement in defense we are also ITAR compliant. These rules are governing ITAR are designed to help the U.S. government maintain control over sensitive military technology by preventing both the physical components of these systems and the knowledge needed to manufacture them from being passed to non-U.S. citizens. These rules are highly relevant to almost every aerospace manufacturing company since even components for commercial aircraft may be ITAR controlled if they are essential for a military variant of the vehicle as well. Failure to comply with ITAR regulations can lead to a serious fine, revoked contracts, and potentially criminal charges, so any aerospace manufacturer needs to be cautious when outsourcing components controlled by the USML.
To ensure compliance with ITAR, one of the key elements is to ensure everyone on staff is a U.S. citizen or qualifies for an exemption by meeting certain criteria for residency and by being independent of foreign influence. These restrictions may also apply to visitors at your facility or your guests, or employees with dual citizenship. Similar restrictions may apply to the businesses you work with if you rely on downstream suppliers. It’s important for any aerospace manufacturer to be able to demonstrate ITAR compliance throughout the supply chain, ensuring that every business is properly vetted and registered.
Intrex Aerospace is proud to be an ITAR-registered aerospace manufacturer with extensive experience in machining high-precision defense and aerospace components. We provide high-mix, low-volume contract manufacturing services for a wide range of tier-one and tier-two aerospace manufacturers, providing cost-effective services with a high level of quality control and assurance. We specialize in thin-walled machining and also offer a broad range of value-added services ranging from kitting to assembly.
