How Intrex Helps Inform Others about Aerospace Manufacturing
The team here at Intrex Aerospace is dedicated to Lean aerospace manufacturing techniques. Partnering with the Colorado Association for Manufacturing and Technology (CAMT), our entire team received training in Lean principles and our management team undertook a Six Sigma course. Combined with setting up 5S workshops and value stream mapping production lines, these skills have helped us increase efficiency and quality metrics, including throughput and on-time delivery.
Our success in Lean and its impact were dramatic CAMT has used us as an example of the benefits of Lean. We have hosted facility tours to demonstrate to other firms the potential for success from adopting Lean principles. Intrex has also worked with Front Range Community College to host a group of representatives from community colleges and other educational organizations interested in the aerospace manufacturing industry. We hope that by providing these educators with information on the processes that have led to success in our firm, they can train future machinists to be better prepared for the industry in years to come.
Our aerospace manufacturing company hopes to inform more machinists in the areas on these benefits from our new Thornton, CO, facility. From this expanded location, we look forward to growing our staff and providing them with the Lean training needed to be more effective aerospace manufacturers. We are also ready to better respond to our customers’ demands with greater capacity and capabilities. With increased production floor space and new machine cells, including Swiss CNC machining cells, Intrex is prepared for continued growth.
